Hideaway Studio Polivox v1.1 KONTAKT
The Polivoks (Rus.: Поливокс) was designed by Vladimir Kuzmin with input on the aesthetics from his wife Olimpiada who was apparently inspired by Soviet military radios of the time. In production between 1982 and 1990 the Polivoks was manufactured at the Formanta Radio Factory in Kachkanar, Russian SFSR. With a retail price upon release of 920 rubles around 100,000 Polivoks were manufactured - peaking at a production rate of up to 1,000 units a month! Despite this, the Polivoks is not all that commonly seen an instrument outside of Russia.

Monopolyphonix was in many ways a celebration of another successful resurrection of an old classic saved from the grave. Much like the Minimoog, ARP Omni-2 and Novachord left their sonic fingerprints on S-VX and The Orbitone Collection, a recently restored Farfisa Syntorchestra manufactured in 1974, gave its all to the creation of Monopolyphonix

Bass Machine was in essence an attempt to revisit a commonly used trick of the trade whereby the warm roundness, power and motion of the Minimoog’s bottom end was blended with the bite and clinical accuracy of FM bass. The result is a nice example of where the whole is greater than sum of its parts…

In order to capture as much of the Model D’s character as possible, four patches were dialled into the instrument complete with filter envelope. Since such a process would probably have rendered rather inflexible results another four patches were captured with the filter wide open. Every white key was captured as four random round robins resulting in over 800 samples from Hideaway Studio’s beloved 1976 Minimoog No.7751.

Eight patches were then dialled up on a classic 4-OP FM synth. Four sounds were lightly tweaked and four were programmed to offer a wide range of sonic palette that suitably complemented the patches from the Model D. Over 280 samples were captured from the instrument on every white key.

Electrophonics is an eclectic library of sounds created by, or processed through a modular synth system. Great for soundtrack work, but equally useful for adding texture or more organic elements to all types of electronic music.

There are 138 patches (plus an additional 32 Time Machine versions of patches with rhythmic content), made from more than 730, 24 bit 44.1kHz samples. The patches are arranged in categories: Coolicon, Drones, Filter Sweeps, Modular Tones, Odyssey FX, Percussion, Space Atmospheres, and Zither. There are also convolution impulses from a Roland SRE-555 and a Doepfer A-199 spring reverb.

The Coolicon is a type of light shade that was used at the BBC in the 1960s. While recording at the Radiophonic Workshop, Delia Derbyshire discovered that they were rich in harmonic overtones, (similar to a Tibetan Prayer bowl or bell), analysed the frequencies, then recreated the sound with a collection of oscillators. We've used band pass filters to break the sound down into its different components - some tonal and some atonal - and then processed them through a variety of synth modules and effects. There are 40 patches in the Coolicon section and the demo track 'The Green Lamp' was made purely from these.

The filters in our modular system include a cloned ARP 2600 by Analog Metropolis, a Buchla Low Pass Gate by Thomas White, a Blue Lantern Polivoks, Moog and TB303 types by Doepfer. Some sounds were also created by our ARP Odyssey and a toy zither.

The main panel has controls for volume envelope and modulation, pitch mod and filter controls (only a couple of patches use the Kontakt filter, but it is here as a convenient method of quickly changing timbre). There is also a global effects bypass switch. There are a further three control panels - Voicing/Time Machine, FX1 & FX2 - see the photos below.
Synth Magic Sounds of the Delta KONTAKT Synth Magic Sounds of the Delta KONTAKT
Sounds of the Delta is a sample library of the Korg Delta Synthesiser for NI Kontakt (full version of Kontakt required). It also has all the raw oscillator samples which can be controlled in the same way as a real Delta.

The gorgeous analogue strings have also been sampled and when used in conjunction with the Delta sample library and raw osc's gives a lovely synth stack of sounds..
All samples are placed under the control of an intuitive graphical user interface and each section (Delta library, Raw Osc's and strings) all exist in the same .nki file for convenience.

No messing around with loading different sections, or having to adjust Kontakt behind the scenes-Access the whole instrument from the same GUI.
Loads of extra features added such as 9 LFO's, Pitch envelopes, filter envelopes, Highpass and band pass filters etc.
Has a full effects section which includes over 50 Impulse responses from classic reverbs such as Ursa Major Space Station.

Also has a sixteen step analogue style sequencer.

Samples recorded at 24 bit.
320 presets included to start your sonic journey with the Delta and remember you can tweek these presets to your own taste so very easily using the GUI.

The main sound generating part of Sounds of the Delta consists of 3 Sections.

Section 1) Delta sample library which is placed in an easy to use drop down menu system for quick and easy access to the samples Lots of bass, strings, resonance, filter mod effects, etc all sampled and easily selected from the custom user interface.

Section 2) Delta raw oscillators section which gives you full control over the raw oscillators in much the same way as a real Delta.

Section 3) Analogue string section which enables the creation of the beautiful strings from a Delta- Easily create lush analogue, swirling pads and strings that just ooz analogue.

Each section can be played simultaneously to create huge analogue sounds.

Dedicated effects and modulation section.

The Control page allows each oscillator, string and Delta Library to be panned independently of each other to allow wide stereo spreads.
